Reading formats
My novels are available in multiple formats to readers. The Rys Chronicles were produced as trade paperbacks in small runs of offset press printing with full color covers. The books measure 6" x 9" and the paper used contains 30 percent recycled materials.
The Rys Rising novels are available in paperback or hardcover from print on demand services.
Audiobooks here are in iTunes-ready m4B or mp3 formats.
Ebooks are available in the following formats:
epub: An open industry format that works on the iPad, Stanza reading application for the iPhone, Barnes & Noble Nook,and the Sony ebook reader among many others.
Mobi: This format is compatible with the Amazon Kindle. It will load into your Kindle device from your computer. Kindle-specific reading applications on smart phones or tablets do not always recognize it if it is not from Amazon. PDF offers a good alternative.
Adobe PDF: Compatible with most computers, PC or Mac. Also works on various ebook reading devices, including Nook.
About digital rights management (DRM):
The ebooks available here are DRM free. Although it is intellectually desirable to restrict unsanctioned uses of digital content, it is not practical to be preemptive about it.
Market research among ebook readers strongly shows a negative opinion of DRM. The dislike is not so much caused by disrespect for copyright, but rather for the technical inconveniences that arise from digital rights management. For example, ebooks bought for one reader might not transfer to a new device. To promote a pleasant and easy ebook reading experience, ebooks here are free of DRM.
It is my opinion that paying customers should not be treated like criminals. Should pirating become a problem, I will release my vicious minions upon the guilty.
About the immediate ebook download process:
Your ebooks will be available for immediate download right after your payment has been made through Credit Card or PayPal. After entering your payment, you will be guided to the Digital Delivery App website where you can download the ebooks that you selected.
Additionally, you will receive an email from Falbe Publishing/Digital Delivery App with a link to your downloadable files.
Note: If you use the e-check option for payment, then four business days are generally required before it clears through the banks, which results in a delay in the delivery of your access links to your ebook downloads. Once the funds are received, the automatic download delivery system will send you your ebooks.

For the most part, the downlaod service works marvelously and the great majority of readers find their buying experiences smooth.
