Go to Chapter 16 The Queen acts more quickly than Shan expects. Before he and Dreibrand can attempt escape, Miranda is tortured and Dreibrand must choose between helping her or her children.

Go to Chapter 17 Shan proves his good character as he uses his magic to keep Miranda alive as she lingers near death on a glacier.
